But listen, if you and I are the ISP, and we lay enough fiber for 1000 customers at 10mbit, what happens when we got 10,000 customers? We need more bandwidth for our customers or they will complain and leave us. So no sympathy for the $270 you pay for four or the idea you have that using bandwidth is same as using gasoline. I've been paying $200/MTH for two phones for 14 years. Charge for words in a bill, not actual tangible features or service. They just pocket that money? No, it's been reappropriated to some other feature or function in my bill I'm sure. I've paid full price on swappa or eBay or Google. I haven't bought a phone from Verizon since. That phone was paid off during that 2 year contract. The monthly bill used to include my subsidized Palm Tree, so yeah long time. The thing that gets me is I've been paying the same price for 14 years. Verizon has experienced market explosion with the increase in Netflix, YouTube, smart phones. Also, part of the deal when they bought the c spectrum is they can throttle, which they do as well as others. ![]() They are now moving on to faster bandwidth, not c spectrum. ![]() Verizon already owns the c spectrum and they rent it out too. Our metro area is only 400,000 or so and the towers that I use probably only service on avg 50k. Any notion otherwise is corporate manipulation for a money grab, not by you (hopefully ?).Īnd I've been paying for it for over 14 years. My use does not cost Verizon a single cent more than anyone else.
